Hi all. Just laid an Indian sandstone patio, my first attempt at a patio and I'm fairly happy with how they went down! I'm now having doubts about what to use for grout and if I need to seal the stone before I grout, there seems to be a huge difference of opinion online. I was going to use the sweep in resin type grout, but I've been told that this could leave picture framing around the stones where the resin leeches in to the stone unless they are sealed, however this seems to only apply to machined sandstone?
I've used 'Kandla grey' paving if it helps, I'm just didn't want to mess it up at the final stage after all the work I've put into it.
Any advice on best practice and best products to use gratefully received.

Cheers.

I sealed mine and used easy joint select.
I'm doing in stages starting last year. Currently laying more slabs.

Lay slabs.
Sealed.
Then sprayed water and used resin with a soft sweeping brush.
Tired the best I could to compact the resin.
It's a bit stressful and many white granules spread around.
Most brushed away. What was left brushed away when slabs dried off.
Next section I layed I sealed slabs. Didn't bother with water and was so easy to brush resin in joints and get surplus off the slabs.
Pushed it in best I could.

So with water or without water I think it's easier without, but chatting to a guy he said the water helps it compact in.

Definitely seal first imo
