Patio - Soakaway drainage pipe

Patio newbie here. Digging a base for a 7x3m patio, depth 7". Found the soakaway pipe (left), which will protrude ~1/2" over the base floor. I'll putt in 4" of type1 and compact it with a whacker.

Please reassure me this presents no risk to the pipe, i.e., enclosing the top 1/2" with compacted type1 will be fine, cos I really don't want to have to lower it.

Also, I've a load of old bricks and rubble to dispose, is it ok to just scatter them across the base before I add the Type1 ?
