Hi,

I have just built a new 3m x 4m extension and have fitted new trifold patio windows.

I have fitted insulated cavity closures with integrated DPC on the sides.

My question is i have a stepped DPC on the floor so i am left with a gap between the floor insulation and the door frame.

What do i do with it?

I have underfloor heating pipes in the main floor screed, 50mm vertical floor insulation, which means the Concreet screed is approximatley 120mm away from the door frame.

Thanks

This has been covered often on this forum section.

Basically the screed should run right up to the door sill.

If you have not built the openings into the inner leaf masonry (below dpc) then you need to remove the top course of bricks, fill the trough with dpm or a piece of broad dpc then fill the trough with screed, finishing it up against the patio door sill.
