I am having an extension & want the render to be smooth but part of the old house has pebble dash on the walls & I was wondering if I can knock the stones of & use a sander to the. Sand it back smooth, I tried chipping a bit off but it is block underneath & part of the block started coming away with the pebble dash so I don't really want to chip it off.

Pebble dash can it be sanded smooth ?

It cant be smoothed off to an acceptable finish but can be rendered over if prepared properly.
Thanks for the reply, how does it need to be prepared ?
I can't have it rendered straight onto the pebble dash S the existing windows do not stick out far enough !
