Hi

There's been a lot of condensation in the bathroom (I'm looking to fix the cause of the problem first of course) ... but after that how do I prepare the ceiling and paint it.

There's a lot of little cracks around the lights etc... and some brown stains.

Cheers

Scrape off loose and peeling paint and rub down the edges you cause. Prime the bare plaster with dilute emulsion 70/30 ish.

Apply a good stain block such as zinsser bin to stains, but remove any mould with 3:1 bleach solution first.

Fill where you scraped off and primed.

Rub down flush and prime the filler.

Apply adequate number of full coats to the ceiling, eggshell is best for a bathroom.

Thats presuming you do address the damp source/problem.
