Hi everyone.
I have a reclaimed cast iron fireplace insert that I want to fit. It will go into the original opening (once I have opened it back up to the original size). It may sit slightly proud from the wall in order to line up with a wooden surround. I intend to sit it on a granite hearth which I understand needs to be 18" deep. Is there anything I should be aware of such as regulations or special tools or materials before I start? Having looked in the opening it looks fairly straight forward and chimney looks clean.
Many thanks
Grommett
