Timers and photocells with old fashioned relay proper contacts seem to be the best.

These new electronic fancy units regardless whether they use a neutral or not appear to me to struggle with "low current loads"
 
Yes I saw on the website that it was for incandescent and fluorescent loads only, not for LED and as I was going to use this for LED lighting I just wondered why it wouldn't be suitable.

I've been using a B&Q photocell/timer on a string of LED's since last year, just added 3 x 3W LED bulbs. I've not had any problems with it at all
