Picture of Combi Boiler Earth Bonding

to elaborate on central heating bonding.

It only ocupies one paragraph of bs7671 and is not present on any of the example diagrams.

What I interpret was the intent of the group that included it in the paragraph was in the context of for example a flat with shared heating pipes from a common boiler room. Just as you would main bond the services entering the flat you would bond heating pipes entering the flat, in the same way as you would bond structural metal parts.

Heating pipes which originate within the equipotential zone and are not in a special location should not be bonded any more than a kitchen sink within the confines of 16th edition.

Many electricians still work to the standards of 15th edition which is one reason for confusion, another is unhelpful misinformation leaflets like that linked from Worcester.

And my house is all HEP anyway so boding main water pipe pointless.

EVen my gas is HEP so that agian has no point for bonding.

Just kiddin

Get an electrician out as soon as possible. It sounds like you have a major problem with the earthing to your property.
