Those top thin discs will come off. Below will be a screw. They will either pop off, use a stanley blade or thin screwdriver at the rear or they may have a short thread and actually be screwed in. A set of grips wrapped in tape to prevent scratching will be needed.

Hi Nick I just had a quick search and they look very similar to these from Victoria Plumb. If you read the first review it states that the caps on the top unscrew on these so chances are yours will too. Hope this helps

Thanks for the link and agreed, they do look identical, however, I tried a very thin knife blade first and the tops popped off relatively easily. Mine are completely unbranded so may well be a cheaper model.

It's years since I changed a washer tbh lol.
Once I'd taken the lever off and exposed the brass valve underneath, I did try a spanner on the large nut just to see if there was any movement but its as tight as you like so I guess its definitely the washer.
There was also a kind of pin arrangement or spring clip that went through the top of the valve which I haven't seen before.
Obviously, what I need to do is strip the whole thing down and find the washer so I know what size etc. I need.

Hi Elkato, yes, they're quarter turn taps.
I've had to leave it for today but will bear in mind what you say when I come to strip them down.

They are definitely ceramic cartridges in those. You will need to:
Isolate one tap
Pop off the top cap
Remove handle assembly
You will have a brass section with flats on it resembling a bolt.
You will need a decent sized spanner to lock onto this and then you will need to hold against it on the tap body. Normally by hand but if it really is that tight the a cloth wrapped around the spout and some grips on it or cloth and a length of tube. Anything that will prevent scratching and will increase leverage (length).
Once cracked you will need to take it to a plumbers merchant to match it up as there are different sizes and spline amounts.
Don't forget to buy two!!!
Refit in the reverse order and job done

Not a problem, fore warned is fore armed.
As you can see there are many different types hence the reason to remove it and match it at the merchants. Make sure the spline count is right too. The merchant should have a tool that will slip over the spline and give the correct measurement.

@thetcutkid are these basin or bath taps? Made by Deva? I think I have a link to the cartridges for you if you can confirm these two things.
