Hi All,
We have a water pipe in the garden which we can't dig in at some spots, so I used a heating / warming cable. It was 'ready made', with cable, thermostat, and plug all fully functional.
Now the cable doesn't get warm anymore. I guess it can either be the thermostat or the cable is damaged somewhere?
Aren't these cables basically just a 'cable' (yes, smart statement) with a bit of resistance to warm up?
If so, I was wondering whether I could try to repair it myself by removing the thermostat (cutting it out and re-connecting the cable)? There was a bit of loose cable on the ground where works have been done recently, I could cut this out as well in case it got damaged there.
Or am I completely wrong with that? Any other ideas/suggestions?
Many thanks!
