I had a new boiler fitted around one year ago, a baxi 800. Previous to this I had a system that required a water tank in loft and a cylinder in a cupboard.

Now, when the temp hits what ever level the heating is put as and turns off, the pipes start knocking in one part of house. So not all the pipes, but ones in a certain area, seems to be running from living room up to the bedroom directly above. It's been doing this from the moment we had it installed.

This doesn't seem to happen when the heating comes on, just when it turns off.

I haven't lifted carpet and floorboards yet, but any suggestions to help, it's driving us crazy!

Could a plumber do this, or would it be best to get a carpet fitter
