Hi,
I've just finished a rewire for a customer who at the end of the job has asked for an alarm. So, I've put a wireless visonic alarm in, simple enough. He wanted to protect the back bedroom so I was going a door/window contact on the window.
However, he's now asking for a PIR sensor to cover the window incase someone breaks the glass and climbs through. He says he has a similar set up in his house where its mounted looking across window (presume half the sensor is covered) and will set the alarm off as soon as the curtains move but not anywhere else in the room.
I've only ever put contacts on windows and PIR on landings upstairs, I've never heard of this practice before.
Is there a trick to doing this (covering part of sensor for example) or is this simply not a good idea.
Any other way to detect broken window in bedroom?
Cheers
Dan
