Hi Everyone,

I am part way through constructing a pizza oven in my garden and am currently trying to get the base which is oak sleepers to level off with a slight slope away from the wall so water doesn't pool.

I wondered if anyone has any advice how I can even out the top of the wall they are placed on? I was thinking a thin 3-4mm slither of something on the top so it slops away from the wall but not sure what?

I know you are probably thinking "That is going to go up in flames!", but the oven kit has a huge insulated base with firebricks on so should be fine.

A bed of mortar allowed to dry on top of the right side should do what you want

Perfect. I was actually going to render with 1 part cement and 4 part render sand, could I just render the too edge with angle bead to the height I need and use that? I assume it can take the weight OK?
