I need to install plasterboard over a layer of 30mm thick cellotex board. There are wooden beams behind the cellotex.

My guess is that the cellotex can be screwed to the beams and then the plaster board screwed to the beams through the cellotex?

I have access to a screw gun that can handle up to 57mm screws but I guess they won't be long enough?

Cheers,

From experience it's hard to screw the celotex to the beams as even drywall screws just end up going straight through it!

Just put the minimum amount of fixings in to hold it in place then some long screws through the plasterboard and the celotex will clamp it all more securely.

I would say your screws need to be the thickness of the plasterboard + insulation + 25mm ish.
