I have written some other posts on this job on different topics. In this post I am most interested in finding the best way to form the framework for my plasterboard.

There is currently a set of doors and some cladding on the vertical face and a flimsy piece of hardboard on the horizontal face above the stairs. I am removing all this and the previous framework as the space will be made useful from inside the 2nd bedroom.

I have got some 2x2" timber and I was going to fix to each wall to form the edges of the vertical and horizontal face. I then need to provide support for the plaster between the walls. As I can't noggin this as you would when doing a partition shall I use metal brackets or another means?

Basically should I use metal brackets to fix the noggins between the 2 walls or is there a better way?
