Plastering coats

Good morning

Last night I only got chance to put one coat of plaster on my ceiling. I basically ran out of light. Should a second coat go on straight away or doesn't it really matter?

If it does matter should I start again putting two coats on?
It's just a skim I'm doing

did you get a good finish with that 1 coat? if so leave it, if you need another coat you will have to pva and go again, also get yourself a task light
