Hi

I'm a DIY'er looking for advice on rendering an external patio retaining wall (see picture).

I have come from Painting and Decorating forum where the advice was to avoid paint due to minerals coming out of the concrete because the hidden side of the wall will be 'wet', and use a porous render rather than paint.

So I would be grateful for any advice on what mix / pre-mixed products would be appropriate for this situation. Ideally I would be able to colour the render too (grey in case that's relevant).

I will also need to install a bead to stop water running down the face of the render but that's a few steps down the road yet.

Many thanks for any advice - gratefully received!!

Great - thanks both. Will look into those options. I think K-rend has lime in their pre-mix.

Much appreciated!
