Hi - I've opened up an old fireplace which will not be used for any fire, just something decorative. Assuming its OK to just plasterboard the sides and back of the fireplace, what should be done with the chimney opening? Leave it and put a chimney balloon up there, or board it with a vent? Or is there a better option?

Thanks

I did the same on one of mine recently. Boarded the sides/back and just had a vent made up for the top. Made sure to get the chimney swept out first as well! :)
