Hi all, we had a damp proof course done in our front room a few weeks ago and, to cut a very long story short, we had two plasterers let us down so my husband has decided to embark on this job himself. This is of course much to my disgust!! Any tips?

You are lucky as at the moment it has become fashionable to fit deep skirt boards, so remove the old skirting, this will probably pull big lumps off including the rendering. Re render the walls where needed ( sharp sand and cement mix 4 to 1, fairly dry ) put onto wall leaving about 2 or 3mm for plaster. Re-plaster the bottom of the wall and if the job is not too good, don't worry, fit a deep skirting, this will cover most of it up!
