Plastering on to patio door lintel.

Sliding doors.

The plaster on the top horizontal face has a crack along the entire width, the plaster nearer the doors frame has lost its bond and can be pushed up slightly.

I’ve gouged a bit of plaster out and as best I can see, there’s a steel lintel face.

I presume the plaster will have to be removed.

What’s the appropriate method to plaster onto a lintel face?
