hi all

i have just rewired a kitchen, i have done all my chases and put the metal back boxse in, i made an arrangement with the house owner that i was coming back the next morning to put the capping on, but when i came back the next morning the plasterer had bonded all the chases before i had chance to put the capping on,

now i like to put capping on every chases i do but other sparks say you dont need capping others say you do

what do you guys think

Not necessary - it's just a bit of added protection (some use oval pvc conduit).............normally protection from the plasterer's trowel :)

The capping is normally installed to prevent trowel damage, they are not used as containment. If the spreader's careful there is no need for them.
