Capping or No Capping?

As I hinted, I would avoid using either in place of just plastering in the whole chase, it makes more sense on many levels and more often than not there is no sense in capping and not much in conduit mostly unless its decent metal conduit which I will admit it is difficult to nail thru even if deliberate it tends to deflect off, even drilling sometimes similar. In my opinion plastic conduit with a good amount of plaster over it might give a reasonable chance of rethreading the cable in future if required with minimal damage to décor.
With metal capping the time and effort often required to fix it and safely draw thru new cables undamaged past sometimes razor sharp metal and not being absolutely certain its no been nicked partially or more so and there`s no test for that.
There is no point for it except to protect from a clumsy plasterer or others.
It adds expense in time and goods and is dog ruf.

Back in the eighties during the bond everything years I worked on some timeshare cottages, the electrical consultant insisted on metal capping, which then had to be bonded to the back box earth terminal, wood screw and crimp lug through the capping, crazy
