hello, I would appreciate opinion on plastering the uncovered bricks in the picture. The new beam rests on the original brick wall .I think something needs to be done to overcome different expansion rates, (eg like EML tacked over a wooden lintel prior to replastering) but not 100% sure and would welcome advice. Thanks, Dean.

I am not a plasterer but fixing 9mm plasterboard onto the lintel and brick to the blockwork with foam adhesive comes to mind. Cut it to a neat horizontal line along the blockwork and skim over.
