Plastering quote

Good evening,

I would like to ask if anyone know an average cost of plastering a standard bedroom, walls and ceiling. I have so far had a quote of £500, but don't know whether that is considered expensive. The builder is semi-retired and has worked as a builder for most of his life.

Without seeing the job, that sounds a reasonable quote. Will that include the materials too though? You also say the man is a builder, but how good is he at plastering? The best way forward would be to get another couple of quotes from reputable local plasterers,, and take it from there.

Thankyou - it does include materials, but as you say, another couple of quotes would be best.

Does it include the ceiling? Is the room 'ready to go', no prep needed? Will he take the radiators off? Will you cover the carpets and take down the curtains and curtain rails? Is the room clear of furniture?

Edit: I see it includes the ceiling. Not a bad price then.

We've just had a ceiling reboarded and all walls skimmed in a fairly big bedroom including inside built in wardrobes. £270 inc mats, cash. Bearing in mind rooms empty no carpets/furniture, rad already removed. If that's any help.
