Plastering Sand for laying slabs?

Hi i have an extra jumbo of plastering sand - would I be able to use this mixed with cement to lay patio slabs in the garden?

I was going to use the plastering sand for rendering some flowerbeds, but went for silicon based render instead.

Was going to create a sand cement bed apx 50mm and place on top of some type1.

Plastering sand is a fine sharp sand. I'd use it if I already had it. Sharp sand seems to be preferred though it's common to add some soft sand.
