Hi,
This is my first post and I'm a real novice when it comes to DIY (shelves have been my limit so far) so be gentle with me if I ask the dumb question!
I'm in the process of doing up my house, and I want to cover up two walls in the lounge that are currently painted brickwork. I've had three plasterers in and they all said they would line with plasterboard and then skim - is this the best option? The reason I ask as it will mean altering light switches, electrical socket and architrave round the door.
Also the ceiling has been artexed with a very striking fluted fan pattern that I would like to either cover up or remove - what are my options for this? One plaster said he would do it but couldn't guarantee that the plaster would stay in place.
I am not intending to do this job myself but would like to be better informed when talking to the people I'm going to pay for doing the job.
Thanks in advance
V.
