Is skimming over dry lining a DIY job or pro??

I went to a self build show ages ago and remember seeing a product that claimed not to need skimming - does anyone know about this at all?

Thanks in advance.

any job is easy when someone else is doing it espacially plastering, i think you might be on about tape and jointing plasterboards.

IS it poss to use plasterboard and just `make good` the joints will that have the desired effect!

Here is the situation - outside walls with cork tiles on them (yuk!), figured it easier to batton, insulate and plaster board at same time as a rewire and radiator pipe renewal in each room (outside walls only!) Saving having to remove/make good cork tiles and have wall cavaties insulated!

do a search on tape and jointing if its only one wall you shouldnt have any problems appart from buying small bags. unfortunatly you will have to buy big bags but its ideal for filling any other holes.
