hey when running plastic central heating pipes in the void below the downstairs floorboards do they need lagging? I presume if they did it would make the job awkward as the pipes are usually clipped with nail in clips tight to the side or underneath the joists not really allowing space for lagging.

All pipes need insulating if they are in a place where they cannot benefit from any heat from the house so if they are under the floorboards on the ground floor they will require insulating.

yes they need lagging, use wrap over clips, the talon ones can be used with talon spacers to enable better room for lagging.

you could also fit the lagging and use builders banding.

you will need 15x25mm for 15mm and 22x19mm for 22mm pipework. Plastic pipework needs clipping every 300-500mm.
