Hi, can i join plastic to copper on my central heating system

Are you

1. Adding the copper to an existing plastic installation

2. Adding the plastic to an existing copper installation

If 1 ideally you need to determine the manufacture of the plastic pipe and use a fitting and insert of the same manufacturer to preserve the warranty. Or use a compression fitting (with insert) and copper olive and PTFE tape if needed.

If 2 you can cut the copper with a pipe slice and connect the plastic push fit fitting directly onto the copper tube (as long as it is to BS and not chrome plated)
