Please help - Can't get Central Heating to work!!

Hi Guys,

This is prob something so simple but CH is not my field would really appreciate any advice.

I can't seem to get heating to work, first time tried this year. Turned CH on at boiler controls - all ok, opened all rad valves - all ok, only thing that seems odd is thermostat control on wall doesn't seem to click on when I turn it up - have turned it to full 30 degrees.

Do I need new thermostat control, or is there anything else I can check first?

Any help would be realy appreciated.....untill then extra socks going on!!

its ten yr old gas potterton prima f boiler, with cylinder in airing cupboard, tank fed from loft. I dont know if thats enough but cant think of what else to put.
