Can someone please help. Been to my local B&Q today and the gentleman helping me said that it is fine to use Masonry paint on my wood doors
I’ve painted the doors today and of course I have a problem as I was not told to prime them first. Can I just paint over the masonry paint with Satin Wood?
Please help

Hi,

Are the doors internal or external?

Masonry paint is for what it says ‘masonry’ ie. brick and stone.

What paint did you use?

Please provide photos so people can help you better.

There are professional decorators on the Screwfix Community Forum who will be able to give you a professional answer but you do need to include photos and more details ie. brand of paint used, internal or external doors etc

Edit: No I wouldn’t advise painting over with anything yet. Likelihood is you may need to strip the paint off and start again but it depends on answers to the questions. Some masonry paints will work ok on wood if the wood has been prepped properly first.
