Hello,
I'm posting here hoping some of you knowledgeable DIYers/trades people may be able to help us in this frustrating situation.
Basically, it has been over a couple of year+ easy where we will often find hot water lacking in pressure and coming out slower and slower until it stops. We have had plumbers out a few times and the trick to sort it having watched one of the plumbers was hold hand over tap stopping any water flow. Turning on hot water for a short while followed by cold water for a while. Then turn off cold water tap and move your hand and you'll get water come out with lots of air too which gets it working again. However this is always a temporary solution.
We have 2 tanks in the loft. 1 big hot water tank and 1 big cold water tank both on their sides. There is also a pump in loft to increase pressure to showers. If need more info about the set-up, please ask and I will try and answer or find out answers.
Now we've had different plumbers check the system, bleed the system, add a release valve but most plumbers we have tried never seem to be that reliable or often too busy to manage to get them to come again so problem has never actually been properly sorted and none of the above fixes have worked. And maybe just my perception but think it seems to occur little bit more in colder weather although does happen all year round?
Soo frustrated of having to do the hand on tap fix every few days /week and the lack of pressure sometimes from showers. So HELP me please lol! Any ideas anyone?
