Hello All. My Vaillant VCW GB 240 H has a pilt that keeps going out, even though i have changed to thermocouple.

The more pressing problem is the burner flame. Today, it seems to have lost its powerful blue burner appearance. It now looks very low powered, yellow and billowy. And the water to the shower and taps is only getting lukewarm as a result. I haven't tried the CH.

Any ideas would be appreciated in a big way.

thanks for taking the time to read this humble request.

Thanks for the fast reply. Is there anything I can do to "ease it along" for a couple of days, until I can get the piece of poop serviced?

No.
In fact turn it off.
Now.
Flames like that produce carbon monoxide.

Check the flue outside has not become obstucted.

If you have already channged the TC the check you have the case seals in place and intact.

Call an RGI and get it looked at ASAP.

Case seals are the seals which close the cover on your boiler to stop the silent death getting into the room.

As it was pointed out your boiler is now in a VERY DANGEROUS state and should be turned off.

Please get a CORGI Reg, gas engineer to look at it.

IT CAN AND WILL KILL.

Sorry for shouting but need to get the urgency across ;)

This boiler is an open flue type and has been responsible for several carbon monoxide incidents in the past.

You really mean this fellow's boiler has caused some deaths before?

Wont be the first time then!
