If you want the whole system to be RCD protected you could have one before the existing consumer unit. Personally I would not want lighting or the freezer on an RCD. I have a consumer unit with mainswitch and MCBs for the main house and small garage type CUs with RCDs in 2 outbuildings. I also use a plug in RCD if using power from the house outside.
 
No, you can't get rcbo's to fit those boards.

Not good practice to have whole install protected by RCD, me thinks.

Do you have test equipment? It might be even if you did fit and RCD like this, it would trip - so you'd need to verify the state of the install first
