had a plumber in the other day to do the pipes in my kitchen, and he had the water off and drained the pipes ( obviously ) to change the layout in the kitchen.
when I took a shower later that night, the shower didn't shut off properly..
it normally shuts off with a clunk when the dial is turned off ( presumably a solenoid )..
this time it sort of dribbled for a bit and the shower sort of hissed and sounded like the water i the tank was boiling..
something inside clicked ( presumably a thermal cutout to prevent scalding ) and it stopped..

do you think it's a coincidental problem or might it be gunk / grit etc that has been introduced / shook loose when he did the work, getting into the valve and stopping it shutting properly?

Nor do I, and I was in it :?
CJ (electrician in West Midlands) was helping attractivebrunette (who lives in Scotland) connect up kitchen mixer taps.

Always possible that a bit of grit/flux has got into the shower, or that it drained whilst the pipework was empty and caused overheat. Or could be coincidence.

Perhaps the correct place for a pack of hounds to be barking at ColJack is on that other topic.

He's saying that he is plumbing his kitchen, and arguing with others how to connect kitchen taps, citing his own as an example.

In this post, an idiot plumber has messed up his shower.

OK, so he might be a hypocrite, but he seems harmless enough to me, and without malice, so does it really hurt anyone to help him?

Based on the "informed advice" he was giving in that other posting its very surprising that he thought he needed to call a plumber!

Unless of course he really meant that the "idiot plumber" was indeed Colonel Jack !

He's saying that he is plumbing his kitchen,
No he wasn't - he didn't post the thread if you look at it .
and arguing with others how to connect kitchen taps, citing his own as an example.
Don't know what he was citing, but I can't see where he was claiming to be using his own as an example. Maybe I'm missing something, it's always possible.

Even if he did all of the things you're accusing him of (and he didn't call anyone an idiot plumber), it doesn't matter.

You're behaving like schoolchildren; how much does it cost you to either help him or leave him alone?

But sir, he started it
