had a plumber in the other day to do the pipes in my kitchen, and he had the water off and drained the pipes ( obviously ) to change the layout in the kitchen.
when I took a shower later that night, the shower didn't shut off properly..
it normally shuts off with a clunk when the dial is turned off ( presumably a solenoid )..
this time it sort of dribbled for a bit and the shower sort of hissed and sounded like the water i the tank was boiling..
something inside clicked ( presumably a thermal cutout to prevent scalding ) and it stopped..
do you think it's a coincidental problem or might it be gunk / grit etc that has been introduced / shook loose when he did the work, getting into the valve and stopping it shutting properly?
