Hi,
Currently fitting my new bathroom suite and am contemplating replacing my electric shower with a pumped shower.
The place where i bought my bathroom suit he showed me a few options and one of them suited my needs.
I asked about plumbing them and he said youll need a pump and to connect both cold water tank feed and hot water cylinder outlet to pump etc which seems fine.
However he mentioned something about where i can and cant "tap in" as it will cause the pump to run unnecessarily say when i run a bath etc.
He appeared to just be repeating sales blurb if u like without understanding what he was saying.
Can someone explain to me what he may have trying to say?
My understanding is that the pump is triggered once water flows through it....and it would suit me to "tap into" my bath taps supply (both hot and cold)...and i cant see how this would cause flow through the pump when say running a bath.
Obviously im missing something!!
Any advice be great!
Cheers,
Marty.

.....i suppose that should say "tee into my bath taps supply"
obviously if i put the tee after the pump i would have a pump running needlessly

Anyone?
i suppose the question im really asking is this.
Is the pump triggered by flow or by a change in differential pressure between its inlet and outlet(i havent bought a pump or shower yet so i have no MI's to go on)
Cheers,
MArty.

the movement of water when filling a bath and shutting the bath tap can activate the pump.

fit the supply to the hot water cylinder using a surrey flange, essex flange etc giving it its own supply so not causing any problems when using other outlets.

Thanks Seco...and do i do similar for the cold?
Must go google surey/essex flanges now!
Marty
