Hi

Previous owners were using this little room behind the ground floor toilet as a shower. The floor is concrete and there is a waste trap in the floor, see pics below.

I've removed the electric shower and want to put a washing machine in there, mostly easy since I can reuse the water and electric feeds from the shower. But ideally I want to put in a 40mm standpipe trap and connect it to that white pipe in the middle of the old floor waste. But the outside diameter of that pipe is around 43mm and the inside is around 35mm.

What's the right way to go about this?

EDIT: I've just seen this FloPlast WF08 Flexi Waste Straight Coupling Grey 38-45mm https://www.screwfix.com/p/floplast-wf08-flexi-waste-straight-coupling-grey-38-45mm-x/81383

Would that do the job?

Should be ok, only other option is to dig the old waste out and find the Pipework underneath to connect to. My only concern with connecting to that redundant shower waste would be future maintenance of the downstream pipework, should it block.

Cheers. I don't much fancy digging the concrete out, if it blocks in future I could move the washer out of the way, loosen the jubilee clip and remove the waste pipe to get access again. Or can you see another issue?
