Plumbing for a power shower

Hi

Is it possible to place a pump on the existing pipes feeding the bath or would I need seperate pipes from the tank? What factors would effect it?

I asked a plumber when he was round servicing the boiler, who said I would need seperate feeds from both tanks. He didn't look at the existing pipes in any great detail so I'm not sure if he was just druming up some addional work
