:) Hi, I wonder if anyone can give me some information!

I would like to fit a Proper Flushing toilet in my downstairs/outside shed!

It's got a concrete floor which I intend to go through!

It's the joining of the drainage pipe which I am worried about!

Do I need to contact council?
Any tips, sites you can recommend?
or better still a step by step plan would be great!

I know very little about plumbing, I have done a sick/changed a tiolet, that sort of thing, but never drains!
Please advise!
steve

you will need building regs etc as your altering under ground drains.
also need to install a basin where a toilet is located.

 Many thanks!
Is it adifficult job?
Because of b/regs I take it, it would have to be a professional plumber!

depends how far your drains/soil pipes are away from the new toilet.
building inspectors are helpful if you don't rub them up the wrong way.

:) As I can see the pipe runs right out side the shed (concrete outhouse)

The outhouse is part of a covered area with a large double sink (outside, but in covered area) would this be ok as the basin?

To the outside drain cover, the same as the indoor kitchen sink!

So if I get the concrete floor up angle the soil pipe to the general area of the existing pipe...
Would I be able to fit the connection or would a proficient plumber have to do it?
Can you cut into these pipes or do you have to replace the section of pipe to be joined?

not seeing the job hard to say exact.

but you can cut a pipe half way and join it.
you can do it all yourself the bi will advise where he wants it taken to etc.
but don't go cutting up floor till you get the go ahead or you'll upset them before you have started.
ring your council building dept and mention what you want to do and go from there.

8) Excellent< thank you very much for your help!
A very useful forum, cheers
I will see the council on Monday!
I'll let you know how I get on!  :D
