Plumbing. Remote fire valve

I am running a remote fire valve under my lounge floor to the kitchen alongside the pvc covered copper pipe carrying the oil. Does the sensor cable need to be covered/protected or can it left exposed?

Put it in some sort of conduit. It will protect it and will allow removal if it fails.
