Good evening all,
Im new to this forum so hello!!!

Ill dive right in.
The carpet fitters are in next week, the lads are plylining the floor with 6mm ply, beforehand.
Its old floor boards 125mm wide.

Why would they be lining it before carpeting??

Cheers all.

so that the grooves between the floorboards, and the knots and nailheads, do not show through the carpet and cause wear-marks. It will give a flatter, smoother surface. It will also stop dust lines appearing on the carpet when dirt blows up through the gaps.
