Plywood under a shower tray: Waterproof

R

richard7761

Laying a shower tray onto structural marine plywood seeks to ensure a problem free installation. Marine plywood after all is water resistant.

But, can you use structural plywood and use a waterproofing product to make the plywood water resistant?

If this approach can be taken, can anyone please recommend a waterproofing product? Thanks.

I've just read that regular exterior plywood would do as a base for a shower tray.

If that is the case, I would not need to waterproof.

WBP ply and Classi seal round the edge under the tiles ;)
