Hi, please could someone recommend a good quality pocket hole jig/joiner for butt joints. I am getting into woodwork, so not skilled enough for any complex joints yet. I am looking to make some shaker style cabinets for my ensuite.

Also what is the best timber stock for making the styles etc. I will be using ply for inserts.

Many thanks

do not use mdf/chipboard a good skill level required to use conti or melamane board
go for planed pine say 2x1 or 3x1"[21x 43 or 67mm] from a wood or timber yard

Thanks all, thought about pine though it's a very knotty wood and doesn't paint that nice.

i am randomly looking at a chest off 4 large drawers i made
the drawer fronts are about 6" x36" and i can count 3 knots total
the only planning was economical use off timber without warp twist or cup
suspect your thinking off the cheap cheap carp they sell in the diy sheds rather than the half decent woodyard stock
