pointing rods ???

Hello builders, I have a question because I am doing some work on my house and have found some faults.
I have stripped off all the render/pebble dash and discovered some big cracks under it all, my question is, according to the window fitter I can rake out the pointing with a angle grinder horizontally where the effected area is insert these rods and fix them with resin which should stop the crack from opening again.
But we dont know what the rods are called and where to get them.
Any help would be appreciated.

You need crack stitching rods, I have used them from twistfix.co.uk and they seemed fine.

They also sell them in screw-fix.

If the cracks were not showing through the render, then they weren't a problem and can just be repointed
