polycarbonate carport

Have you considered one of these:

Look much better than anything with supports.

they can make the wall of the house fall down, when laden with snow and ice, though.

Good morning all,
Thanks for the photos BAS, but I do prefer a post supported carport, a cantelever like in the pics, would be close to the top of the brickwork, and on a bungalow, with no gable end, I would imagine it to be a outward strain on the top courses.
John, how did you go on with your end sections? this is the only part I'm not clear on yet.
I,m going to buy it all from Fascias.com (master plastics). Thanks.

can anyone find the photos of the house with the fallen-down wall, due to snow on the cantilevered carport?

My end sections have an L-shaped trim. The vertical leg is screwed to the final timber which supports the polycarb sheets at each end. Mine are dark brown, to tone slightly with the stained timbers and legs, and the dark brown guttering.

The short leg of the L clamps onto the edge of the end sheets.

Cheers John,... so each end timber does not have a timber supported bar for the poly to go into like the others,..the poly rests directly on the timber and the L shaped trim clamps in place.
Thanks.

the end one does have a bar under the sheet and on top of the timber, but there is not the domed plastic cover on top of the bar, which is used to cover the joint between two panels, or the big domed washers and nails that hold down the other joints.

I just went and had a look at the L, but I can't see, and I can't remember, if it had a fin to slot into the bar or into the side of the sheet. As far as I can remember it is just L-shaped.
