Going to attempt to sort this in a next few weeks so want to do some research.

At the bottom of my garden there is a hole that has been dug by the previous residents. When it rains which it has done for awhile it fills up with water and I think this is down to poor drainage.

The garden is on a slop and backs onto another garden but i can;t really deflect the water into there garden although one would think that would be where it will naturally run. I was think of digging a 4-6 ft hole and perhaps filling it with some rocks to create a soakaway. anyone else got any ideas?

Do a search on french drain or garden drain

As for soakaway, I used the crate type with drainage membrance , not keen on bricks type, they get clogged up by mud
