I had a mira excell shower with a thermostatic mixer ( about 15 yrs old), it worked well.
When the temp control failed ( cartridge?) I decided to get the plumbers to replace it with a more modern one as I was short on time and couldn't do it myself.
They replaced it with a manual shower mixer.
I don't know the make as they didn't leave the instructions/box etc. It looks like the one wickes does for £80 ( now reduced to £45!).
The flow rate seems a lot less. I've changed the shower head and fitted a wide bore hose( slight improvment)
Could this just be down to the different ( cheap ) manufacture of the valve? Published flow rates for similar valves are only slightly less than mira ones.
Or should I be looking for other causes - debris in the pipes, air locks etc?
Both hot and cold are tank fed, and there is no change in the pipe config. from the original shower.
