Hi all

So, I’m stumped... I’m putting together my basin and mixer tap... I’ve come to put the pop up plug together and can not see how the bar will connect to the plug itself to pull it down to seal. I’m able to make it pop the plug up but it won’t pull it back down.. ive taken a picture of the plug and basin from below and think they’re attached above. The instructions are useless. Can anyone help please??

That mechanism will not pull the plug down ,only pop it up. Its supposed to fall down under its own weight.

As above.
Gravity is a useful tool.
You'll need to cut that horizontal bar down to stop it hitting the wall (by the looks of the photo).
And smear some silicone grease around the white ball that will be under the captive nut holding the horizontal rod.
