We have a pop-up sink waste in one of the bathroom sinks. It goes down, but now won't pop back up as it is supposed to. Ended up unscrewing the chrome plug bit so that the water goes down, and the white plastic bit underneath has no 'spring' in it whatsoever. Is this something that is simple to replace?

Have you checked the connecting rod screw hasn't worked loose (look around the back of the sink where the vertical pushrod joins it's horizontal partner
